Albany Expansion

In the fall of 2019, we expanded our services into these four southwest Georgia counties – some of which have the highest food insecurity rate in the state. We leased a vacant grocery store and established our temporary home to begin this journey.

Hunger is a problem.

A problem for everyone. It impacts communities. And it is up to all of us to face the challenge and take a bold stance to solve it.

Our new warehouse, located at 1706 Ledo Road in Albany has ample space, and we now have generous freezer, and cooler capacity to grow and enhance our food distribution programs. This facility will help us to reach more food insecure families and to become more involved in community outreach.

“You fed me when i was hungry. Thank you!”
– Words of a Neighbor served by Feeding the valley

Facts about our new facility, Completed in 2023:

  • 3.53 Acres which offers us plenty of expansion for the future
  • 35,018 sq. ft
  • 28’ ceilings in warehouse space that will allow a four-level racking system to provide a storage capacity of over 3 million pounds of food product

Feeding the Valley is proud to serve Dougherty, Calhoun, Lee, and Terrell counties. Hunger is a solvable problem and this facility will allow us to serve more people in need. Together, let’s fill this building with food, with volunteers, with determination, and hope to meet the needs of the greater Albany community.
